The first vital step is the new patient paperwork you will receive via text and/or email. Please take your time in describing all of your health concerns: pain, illnesses, disease, medications, surgeries, family history, and your health goals. Please have this paperwork completed 24 hours prior to your appointment time to ensure the doctors have time to review and prepare for your visit.
Don’t worry, if you prefer to fill out the paperwork in person, you are certainly welcome to do so! We just ask you to let us know, and arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
At this point, one of our lovely chiropractic assistants, or perhaps one of the doctors, will spend some one-on-one time getting to know you, and your concerns on a deeper level. Every person is different, and the time we spend consulting is the second step in providing you the highest level of individualized care.
Your exam will consist of a wide variety of assessments: range of motion, orthopedic testing, postural observation, hand strength, balance, flexibility…and of course, palpitation of your spine. All of the procedures are designed to provide us with your initial baseline. If it’s appropriate, and you choose a corrective course of care, your initial baseline will be used to measure your progress, and keep you on track towards your most ideal state.
Depending on your condition(s), X-Rays may or may not be needed. Although, there’s no question that X-Rays reveal critical information, not necessarily felt or known, you and the doctor will have the opportunity to discuss any questions you have surrounding X-Rays.
In most cases, after the exam and X-Rays, the doctors are comfortable beginning your healing process on your first day.
Due to the in-depth nature of your first visit, please plan on your appointment lasting about an hour.
